The 2017 Met Gala took place on Monday night honoring Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo, famous for her avant guard and artistic designs. The Best
Laura Osnes: Laura won the red carpet in our minds with this voluminous floral detailed skirt and black bodice. We loved how she captured spring and the theme of the event in an elegant, refined, and stunning way.
Rose Byrne: This color was a beautiful choice for spring. We loved the simplicity of the tulle and how it fit her with the complexity of the body and neckline.
Emma Roberts: Emma’s dress did an amazing job combining solid fabrics and lace. The end result was elegant and tailored.
Lupita Nyong’o: Lupita always manages to select the most stunning colors and her choice for this year’s Met Gala was no different. We loved the voluminous feather detailing and it’s placement.
Leslie Mann: Leslie’s dress was classic, classy and elegant. We loved the neutral color palette and the layering of the skirt.
Candice Swanepoel- Though this dress was simple, its neckline and skirt fit her perfectly. We loved how formal her giant skirt was.
The Worst
Rihanna: Rihanna decided to attend the Met gala dressed as a floral arrangement. We appreciated the artistic attempt and though the look fit the theme, it lacked refinement. To us, this had a little too much happening.
Katy Perry: Katy Perry took the same path as Rihanna with this avant garde look. We understood this even less.
Kylie Jenner: Kylie’s dress featured a fishing net that caught some accessories that was then haphazardly draped around her.
Kendall Jenner: Nude dresses have been quite trendy for the last few years. Why? We’re not sure. This dress took it a little too far and we didn’t love this look. The end result was tasteless and tacky.
Helen Lasichanh: This dress reminds us of a cartoon character. That’s generally not the goal with a red carpet look.
Anna Wintour: This look ages her with it’s silhouette, cap sleeves and washed out color palette. As for the fluffy tier? We’re just not sure.
