Despite stellar performances by senior Sophie Siminoff and Sophomore Vikki Xu, the Menlo School girl’s golf team was defeated by the Harker Eagles in a stunningly close 186-192 match. The match took place on September 26.

On a beautiful Tuesday at the Los Lagos Golf Course, Siminoff shot a 35 and and was rewarded with medalist honors, with Xu trailing closely behind with a 37. However, neither of these efforts were enough for the Knights to defeat Harker.

Sophomores Sulwen Ma and Gianna Inguagiato both shot 40s, while the sibling combination of Vivian Herr and Marena Herr finished with scores of 40 and 48 respectively. The Knights, sitting at 6-1, are currently in a three-way tie with Castilleja and Harker for the WBAL.

Next week, the Knights will have a tough schedule ahead, facing off against King’s Academy at Sunnyvale Muni on Monday, Notre Dame Belmont at the Peninsula Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, and against Notre Dame San Jose at the San Jose Muni.
