Menlo girl’s water polo team started the Peninsula Athletic league tournament red hot with a 9-5 win over visiting rival Menlo-Atherton Bears on Tuesday.

The Knights have improved their overall record to 13-11, and are now preparing for their matchup against Burlingame on Thursday. This game will be for the semi-finals of the PAL tournament.

Led by standout senior goalkeeper Gillian Bressie, the Knights were able to pull ahead in the second quarter and hold their lead towards the end of the game, even after a sluggish start in the first.

The plethora of goals for the Knights featured four from standout sophomore Annie Bisconti, 2 from senior Sarah Donato, 2 from junior Mia Rosenblatt and one from senior Parker Callender.

The team was firing on all cylinders, and was playing great team water polo, which contributed to their dynamic offensive performance. Senior Parker Callender led the team with three assists.
