The home court was different, but the result was the same. On their own hardwood this time, the Menlo Knights defeated their rivals Sacred Heart Prep once again in a 55-40 victory. The game was mostly competitive during the first three periods, as the Knights were ahead for most of the game with the Gators hanging in. Menlo had a small cushion coming out of halftime, but then SHP rallied in the third, sinking three straight three pointers to bring the game within one point. However, stout defense down the stretch from the Knights allowed them to pull ahead as the Gators only scored 2 points in the 4th.

Sophomore Cole Kastner lead the way for the Knights, scoring 18 points, with 10 in the third. Similar to the first matchup, rebounding advantage for the Knights once again was key, as senior Riley Woodson’s double double of 11 points and 16 rebounds gave the team an edge on the interior. Joe Foley’s passing and driving left the Gators with no answers, as he scored 17 points assisting on 4 shots.

The Knights now sit at a comfortable 18-1 record and remain undefeated in WBAL play. Their next game is at home against University at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. This should be one of their best games thus far.
