Last night’s Back-To-School-Night allowed parents of the Menlo community to get a peek into the lives of their children. Each parent had the chance to visit each of their child’s classes and advocacy. The night started off with a welcome in the Upper School quad followed by ten minute class sessions. The teachers informed the parents on the academic plan and any information necessary for the year. It is a good chance for the teachers and parents to meet, as it allows for a better understanding of the student and their environment. Many of the classes consisted of games and “quizzes” relevant to the current topic the kids are studying.
Back-To-School-Night is a great way for parents to see what is going on at Menlo and exactly what their kids are dealing with on a daily basis. Parents’ get the idea of the workload and level of each class their kids are taking. It is a great opportunity to grasp what the year will give each and every student.
