A little more than year since Western mass media poured over the expansion of ISIS, the Islamic State has recently freed 19 Christian prisoners, a drastic change in behavior from the last couple months. This recent news has security analysts pondering the motives of ISIS, just weeks after a video was produced showing the massacre of Christians on the beaches of Libya.

On February 27, Boris Nemtsov, a key political opponent to Vladimir Putin, was gunned down by an unknown assailant in Moscow, a short distance from the Kremlin. While the government has denounced the attack and has sworn to punish the criminal, opposition groups claim that Putin was behind the attack. This is yet another country coming out of Russia in the wake of the crisis in Ukraine.
