The other night, my eyes (and taste buds) were exposed to a whole new level of delicious asian cuisine. Madame Tam, a Vietnamese restaurant located on 322 University Avenue in Palo Alto offers a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes, including everything from authentic spring rolls to refreshing asian salads to hearty beef entrees. Madame Tam is the perfect place to grab a quick, casual diner with a friend, as it offers affordable entrees and is never too crowded.
Madame Tam has a very open, welcoming atmosphere with large swinging glass doors on the storefront and a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Madame Tam is open from 11 am to 11 every day of the week, making it a great option for everything from midday snacks to spontaneous late night dinners.
My personal favorite entree is the pho that they serve, pronounced “fuh,” as you may remember from a comical Modern Family scene. This house specialty soup comprised of noodles, vegetables, chicken, and broth is a warm dish that sooths and satisfies any appetite. I would recommend coming into the restaurant with a preconceived idea of what you want to eat, taking into account the vast menu that is adorned with many food options. In terms of pricing, the dishes sold at Madame Tam range from approximately $7 to $15, making it an enjoyable night out at not too high of a cost.
Next time you find yourself debating over where to grab a filling and healthy meal, head over to Madame Tam and it won’t disappoint!
