Dos and Don’ts of the holiday season

Dos and Donts of the holiday season

The holidays are hands down one of everyone’s favorite time of the year. It’s a time to celebrate, rejoice with family and friends, and exchange heartfelt gifts.

Do’s:
Buy thoughtful gifts. Don’t just buy a giftcard to Peet’s for each of your friends.
Do a Secret Santa with friends. It gets everyone in the holiday spirit and it’s fun trying to figure out who your mysterious gift giver is.
Make sure to put out cookies, carrots and refreshments for Santa and his reindeer. They need to fuel up for their long journey.
Wear holiday gear! And don’t be afraid to decorate your house for the holidays.
Eat lots of latkes and spin that dreidel
Cuddle up near the fire with loved ones, and have a big glass of hot cocoa.

Don’t’s:

Don’t associate the quality of the gift given to the amount they care about you. People are all under different circumstances, it’s the thought that counts.
Don’t stress about buying the perfect gift for each one of your friends
Don’t tell little kids that Santa Claus isn’t real. No one likes that person.
Don’t be the “grinch” of Christmas. If Christmas isn’t your favorite holiday, try to celebrate anyway.
Don’t eat all of your advent calendar chocolates on the first day.
Don’t be afraid to sing holiday songs loudly for all to hear
