1) In the city of San Francisco, it is illegal to walk an elephant on Market Street unless they are on a leash, according to the Daily Republic.
2) No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 mph according to Ranker.com.
3) It was once illegal to sell and eat ice cream on public streets in Carmel, according to Carmel California. Also, it is against the law to wear high heels over two inches or with a base of less than one square inch unless they have gotten a permit. The local police does not currently enforce this law, but it was made in the ‘20s to protect the city getting sued against by people tripping over tree roots in high heels.
4) In the city of Walnut, a child is not allowed to wear a halloween mask without the permission of a sheriff, according to The Los Angeles DUI Experts.
5) In Chico, bowling on the sidewalk is illegal, states weirdfacts.com.
6) According to Intuit Tax Inc., fruit from a vending machine has an extra 33 percent tax compared to if bought at a grocery store.
7) In Eureka, it is illegal to sleep in the road, according to dmv.org. The website also cites that it is also illegal to spill a margarita on a road in Hermosa Beach.
8) According to The News Wheel, it is illegal for a woman to drive with a housecoat on (a long, loose robe that is informally worn). They also state that in Acadia, peacocks are granted the right of way when crossing the street.
