On Wednesday Oct. 3, the Menlo girls tennis team dominated Menlo-Atherton in a 6-1 victory. This non-league match brings Menlo to an overall record of 8-6.
“We were ready for a tough match as we fell short last year but our preparation paid off and after several enduring single matches we felt proud of our 6-1 victory. It was a good practice match to help us train and improve for our league matches down the road” said senior captain Lauren Creamer.
No.1 singles Junior Taylor Gould was defeated by MA’s Julia Marks but Menlo prevailed in all other match-ups. Both freshmen Addie Ahlstrom and Lindsey Ball took control of the No.2 and No.3 singles matches by winning in straight sets.
No.1 and No.2 doubles both confidently commanded their matches not losing a single a set. No.3 doubles lost one set but won the third-set tiebreaker.
Menlo now moves into a string of league matches, beginning with Harker on October 5.
