The girls tennis team captured their 24th consecutive league title and extended their league winning streak to 246 wins after a win on Tuesday, October 24. Their lopsided doubleheader victory came over Castilleja, winning 6-1 and 5-2.
Menlo and Castilleja decided to institute the double header format, in which the lineups of the teams played two pro sets, each counting for one match, due to poor air quality interfering with their previous matchup.
Number one and number two singles players junior Taylor Gould and freshman Addison Ahlstrom each got to play on the top spot as well as at the number two, winning by a margin of 8-1 each time. Freshman Lindsey Ball played both singles and doubles, winning her singles match at the number four spot with a score of 8-1.
The Knights have now clinched at least a part the league title with a record of 8-0, with two more matches to go. The Gators of Sacred Heart (6-2 in league play) have a chance at sharing the WBAL title with Menlo, provided that they win the next two matches of the season including beating Menlo this Wednesday, and Menlo losing to Sacred Heart and Harker in their respective last two matches of the season.
