The Knights kicked off their season with a huge victory over crosstown nemesis Menlo-Atherton. The student sections were out in full force for the rivalry game. The victory was hard fought close game, as the Knights and the Bears were locked in a 29-26 grudge match to end the first half. The Knight had to fight tooth and nail for each point.
“At times, our team faltered yet we never ceased to recover. In the end, we were able to pull away from the Bears,” senior Thomas Brown said. Brown was able to score 15 points, second to senior Lehigh commit, Joe Foley. Foley put up 21 points and added 5 assists.
The Knights will look to continue to prosper from a strong senior class, consisting of the top three scorers from the game: Foley, Brown, and Riley Woodson. The Knights are off to a hot start this season and are looking to fortify their power with a win in their upcoming game against Stuart Hall. The game against Stuart Hall is the first game in the Burlingame tournament which pits the Knights in three games this week alone before they take several weeks off in preparation for league play.
