The Menlo boys’ basketball team lost to the St. Ignatius Wildcats in a home consolation game on Thursday. St. Ignatius jumped out to an early lead and never slowed down, beating the Knights 80-48. The Knights were coming off of a loss to Archbishop Mitty in the first round of the CCS playoffs. They are now 0-2 against WCAL teams, after going undefeated against WBAL teams.
Sophomore Cole Kastner led the Knights with 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Senior Riley Woodson finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Senior star Joe Foley added ten points and made the Knights’ only three-pointer.
St. Ignatius’ senior co-captain Matt Redmond led the Wildcats’ winning effort with 19 points. Fellow senior co-captain Brandon Beckman added seventeen points, including game-high 3 three-pointers.
