Along with Deffner’s early goal, senior Sophie Jones scored an unassisted goal to secure Menlo’s 2-0 lead going into half time.

In the second half, sophomore Gabby Kogler scored an early goal, with an assist from freshman Carolina Espinosa. Senior Alexa Thomases finished the game with a header to score the Knight’s final goal, off of an assist from junior Sidney Peña, ending the game at 4-0.

The team has had an extremely successful season so far, with a 15-1-1 record overall and a 6-0-1 record in WBAL. “We have an extremely strong team this year. We know how to play with each other really cohesively and the team really knows how to utilize each other’s strengths and weaknesses,” Peña said. The Knights have a chance to continue their successful league record this week with two big games— one against Woodside Priory on Tuesday,  Feb. 5 and the other on Friday, Feb. 8 against Sacred Heart Prep.
