Exactly 17 months after Head of School Than Healy announced the departure of former Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Keith B. Wheeler, Healy introduced Marco Menéndez as Wheeler’s replacement.
Wheeler left Menlo after five years at the end of the 2022-23 school year to lead The Giddens School.
Menéndez is a seasoned administrator who has worked as a principal of multiple high schools, the head of an international school in Guangzhou, China and a Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at a Bay Area community college. Additionally, he owns an educational consulting company.
According to a 2023 interview with Healy, the new Director of EDIB will have a spot on the Senior Administration Team, a group of about 15 Menlo leaders who make important decisions.
