With the start of the new school year, Menlo is now offering students breakfast every Monday and Friday. Breakfast is available between 8:30 and 8:45 and has a variety of options that include scrambled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, bacon and potatoes.
Menlo began providing breakfast to faculty and staff on every Monday and Friday during the COVID-19 pandemic, when teachers were often teaching from home. “It was really to get the teachers to come into the classroom, to teach from the classroom,” Director of Dining Services Thien Hoang said.
After a while, a student asked if they could have some breakfast. Hoang agreed, and let Upper School students have breakfast after 8:30 if there were leftovers.
