Two separate car accidents occurred in the student parking lot on Dec. 5. The larger of the two involved multiple cars and occurred just before school started. The second crash was more minor, involving two cars at the end of lunchtime.
When asked about parking lot safety more generally, students expressed concern. “I’m a little worried for my car’s safety,” senior Raj Keswani said. “Some of my friends’ parents won’t let them drive their [the parents’] cars to school because they’re afraid of lot safety.”
According to Director of Security Mustapha Moutri, he is only aware of one other car crash that has happened on campus this year.
The school added cameras throughout parking areas on campus this summer to increase safety for students. “I’m glad they added cameras though because last year I got hit and no one left a note,” Keswani said.
