Junior Maddy Price has been a vital part of the girls’ basketball team, helping them clinch the CCS championship. For her contribution to the team, Price has been chosen as the Coat of Arms athlete of the issue.
Whether playing forward or guard, her teammates all agree that Price has stepped up her game tremendously. She is always looking for open shots, steals, and fast breaks. “[Price] has contributed to the team by her ability to make plays, seeing the open lane and taking it to the basket. […] She also is huge when it comes to boards and has come up with very exceptional rebounds,” junior Donya Dehnad said. Dehand added that “[Price] is an exceptional athlete, and it has definitely shown on the court.”
Price had an especially dominant game in the CCS quarterfinals, shooting 75 percent from the field and scoring a team high of 19 points. Price additionally grabbed 11 rebounds and five steals. Her streak continued into the semifinals, where Price added 16 points to the Knights total 58-46 win against Scotts Valley.
In addition to brilliant athletic performance this season, Price is very much a team player. She is always looking to motivate her teammates and drive the team forward. Price is sure to be a fierce competitor as the Knights continue through NorCal.
