The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced the 16,000 high school seniors nationwide who have been given the designation of National Merit Semifinalist. Fifteen of these honored recipients were from Menlo School.
The designation of National Merit Semifinalist is awarded based solely on a student’s junior year PSAT score. The cutoff to become a semifinalist varies by state. This year California’s cutoff was 223, a slight increase form last year’s 220.
