Junior Taylor Taweel wowed Sacred Heart with her amazing voice, and now amazes Menlo, giving her the title Artist of the Week. Taweel has been singing for five years, along with acting and is now a part of the chamber choir
Taweel started officially taking lessons at the start to middle school because “it was something I liked to do.” Taweel decided to pursue singing in high school because she believes it is a fun way for her to be creative. “It is a really big part of my life,” Taweel said. She spends a lot of time outside of school singing. Taweel takes lessons twice a week to work on her skill and technique. “[Taweel] has a very nice tone to her voice,” junior Alexandra Walker said.
Taweel used to be a part of an a capella group at Sacred Heart, and they performed covers of popular songs. A notable cover they performed was Lies, by Marina in the Diamonds, which Taweel had various solos on. In addition to singing, Taweel acts as well. She is in the upcoming musical, Little Shops of Horrors. “I decided to audition because Little Shop [of Horrors] is a great show and it is also a great way to meet people who are interested in musical theater,” Taweel said.
Taweel has already impressed Menlo with her talent, but will continue to astound Menlo throughout the year.
