As students returned to school today, the community may have noticed the new changes in the upper school quad.

The most noticeable change is the addition of the stage for the upper school musical to the junior quad. This years’ musical is Fiddler on the Roof, which will take place on May 1, 2, 3, 8, 9. The stage covers the upper right corner of the junior quad, blocking the view of the school if entering from the senior parking lot. The stage this year is larger than that of previous years but should not be a disruption to student or academic life.

Another subtler change you may have noticed is the development of the construction on the library. Support beams have been added creating a “roof” to the office that will eventually reside there. Construction is scheduled to conclude before upper school graduation in June and the silent study section of the library will re-open by this fall. For updates on the construction of the library, you can look at the construction update posters in the student center and library.

Lastly, the bathrooms in the student center are now gender neutral and available for all genders. After months of hard work by the Spectrum Club, the administration has changed the signs so that each student has the opportunity to feel comfortable and safe while using a restroom.
