On Tuesday May 20 after school, the Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream truck came on to campus giving Menlo students and faculty free ice cream as a thank you for participating in the Menlo Annual Fund. 98 percent of the Menlo community supported the fund, and the ice cream served to recognize this achievement. “I think it was a good idea to have some sort of celebration [of the annual fund],” junior Kenzie Mayer said.

While the truck was here, the courtyard by the Athletic Center was filled with eager students waiting for the ice cream. “I thought the ice cream event was a great way to raise awareness on the Annual Fund, and a fun event to have at the end of the school year,” junior Daniel Chan said. Having the truck on campus increased the awareness on the Menlo Annual Fund, as many kids did not even know there was one.

Next year, the goal is to have 100 percent participation and involvement with the Menlo Annual Fund and hopefully this ice cream thank you pushes for more incentive.
