Menlo Sports Recap Week of 5/4

    Boys Golf:
After an 8-2 season and a third place finish in the WBAL Tournament on April 27, the boys golf team played in the CCS Championships on Wednesday May 5 in Carmel. In a very tough field where only the top four teams advanced to the CCS Finals, the Knights finished eighth out of 11 teams. Even though their season is done, freshman Max Ting and junior Jeff Herr each scored 78 on a par 71 course. Their performance earned them 10th place finishes among all players in the tournament.

    Boys Tennis:
Another outstanding season had the Knights at a 21-1 record heading into the WBAL Individuals on April 27. Doubles teams Vikram Chari/Gunther Matta and Kylee Santos/Dylan Pace finished first and second respectively in the tournament. These two teams will play in the CCS individuals May 18. Additionally, the entire team will take on Archbishop Mitty on May 8 in the CCS Round of 16 at Menlo. The Knights look to take home their 13th CCS title since Bill Shine has taken over the head coaching job in 1996.

    Girls Lacrosse:
The Knights are currently in first place with a 7-0 record in the WBAL League and ranked 15th in California by MaxPreps. The team has beaten their rivals Sacred Heart Prep twice this season by a combined score of 38-13. In addition to their undefeated performance in league, the Knights beat Amador Valley early in the season, who was the number one ranked team in the West at the time. The team finishes out their season against Menlo-Atherton on May 8, and they begin the WBAL Tournament on May 12.
