Today’s dress-up theme, “Wacky Wednesday,” marked the middle of the much-anticipated spirit week. Students came to school in crazy costumes; the quad was dotted with clashing articles of clothing, bright neon colors, and funky wigs.

The lunchtime spirit activity commenced with a moment to recognize alumnus and faculty member Michael Harris, who passed away on Sept 6th in a boating accident. To memorialize the caring and fun spirit that Harris embodied, bracelets were offered for the entire school to wear.

The car-stuffing activity followed the note about Harris. The goal of the car-stuffing activity was to get as many students as possible into an SUV. Students vied for a spirit point as they attempted to stuff the most people into the car.

After the other grades gave their best try at first place, the seniors came out on top, stuffing 40 people into the car and winning them a spirit point. Sophomores and freshmen came in second place, with 35 people in the car, and juniors took last place with 31 students stuffed inside the car.

As the midpoint of Spirit Week passes, students have “TV Thursday” and “Menlo Friday” to look forward to.
