The Menlo boys’ golf team enters the 2025-26 season with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear goal: to achieve a CCS bid for the first time in six years.
With a current record of 2-3, the Knights believe they have the depth, talent and mindset to turn that goal into reality. “I know everyone will be working their hardest. As long as we improve and continue our track, I think that’s definitely achievable,” senior captain William Beesley said.
Finishing last season with an overall record of 6-6, the team struggled to find its footing. Beesley said the team is determined to use that experience as motivation for the upcoming year. “We struggled a bit during the regular season, but we’re looking to stay focused on what’s ahead and have a little more success as a team,” Beesley said.
After losing five senior starters, the team’s starting lineup this year consists of three underclassmen: sophomore Spencer Toland and freshmen Obasi Winn and Riley Jasen. “This is my first time being in a team setting in golf, but I’m just using it to sharpen my competitiveness and keep improving on my game,” Winn said.
