Moi Lee’s breathtaking speech on her battle against cancer

Lucy Heneghan | Assistant Sports and Copy Editor

Moi Lee, a senior at Sacred Heart Prep, has spent the past five months battling non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. She finished her treatment on Aug. 26, and returned home two weeks later. On Sep. 15, Lee delivered a magnificent speech to the entire Sacred Heart community.

As the Menlo community, we can step beyond the bounds of a school rivalry to commend the strength and bravery of a student who is just like each of us. Lee’s character rings true in her reflection of the past few months as she speaks to the brevity of life and the importance of an optimistic attitude.

The hashtag #HeadUpHeartStrong has been Lee’s personal motto throughout these hard times and has been frequently used by her supportive friends and family.

Look for Sarced Heart to be coordinating fundraisers in the future for the Lymphoma Research Foundation in honor of Lee.
